Hungarian Economic Gateway

About us

We create opportunities to connect where they are missing today.

Who established it

The Hungarian Economic Gateway is an initiative of Attila Szabó’s Secretariat of the Honorary President and the Secretariat’s most important public-interest project. Attila Szabó gained experience in public life as an entrepreneur and later as the founder of the TISZA Party. The Economic Gateway is not part of the party, receives neither direction nor funding from it, and serves no party-political purpose.

Attila Szabó is the project’s initiator and honorary patron.

Our mission

We connect the capabilities of Hungarian businesses with the specific needs of government, public administration and each other. We develop professional proposals and present them openly and transparently to decision-makers and society.

Our vision

We aim to be the first point of contact for entrepreneurs, professional organisations and decision-makers seeking to understand where the opportunity lies, whom to connect with and what concrete step to take next.

What we stand for

Independence

An independent professional board decides on issues according to public criteria — not the founder or a political party.

Political neutrality

We submit our proposals to both government and opposition decision-makers, and invite policy specialists from every relevant parliamentary group to our roundtables.

Transparency

We publish our supporters, proposals and consultations with decision-makers.

Professionalism

We build every case on facts and practical experience.

Results

We measure the connections we create, not the publicity we receive.

Our pillars: Economic Gateway · Initiatives · Autonomous Council of Wise Persons · Education/Events

Independence guarantees

  1. 1

    Professional board

A 5-member board decides on acceptance and next steps. Members may not be political party office-holders, elected representatives or government ministers, and are named on the website.

  2. 2

    The founder’s role

Attila Szabó and the Secretariat do not make decisions or intervene in individual cases.

  3. 3

    Funding

We do not accept support from political parties, party foundations or public authorities. No single supporter may provide more than 20% of our budget, and every supporter’s name is public.

  4. 4

    Conflicts of interest

If an issue affects the interests of any staff member, board member or supporter, the person concerned does not participate in the decision, and this is recorded.

  5. 5

    Public accountability

Quarterly case reports, a consultation log and an auditor-verified annual report.

How we work

One gateway, clear rules.

We receive and process every enquiry through the same channel. Everyone knows what to expect, and no issue depends on personal connections.

  1. 1Enquiry – for any issue, through our central form or at titkarsag@elnokititkarsag.hu.
  2. 2Acknowledgement (3 working days) – we assess alignment with our objectives and check for conflicts of interest.
  3. 3Assignment – we appoint the responsible team member and identify the appropriate programme.
  4. 4Connection – we propose a way forward: a professional partner, a policy preparation forum, a roundtable or a professional proposal.
  5. 5Feedback (10 working days) – we respond in writing, even if we cannot help.
  6. 6Follow-up – we compile a quarterly overview of enquiries and their outcomes.

How we help

  • We facilitate open, professionally grounded connections and dialogue.
  • We help you navigate the relevant professional connections and opportunities.
  • Our work follows a professional decision-making process independent of party-political direction.
  • We help you find the right points of contact while respecting official procedures.

Transparency

How we operate — openly

We publish our supporters, proposals and consultations with decision-makers. Our quarterly case reports summarise how many issues we received, their outcomes and whom we consulted. Our annual report is verified by an auditor.
